U9 – U11 (Initiation & Skill Foundation): Focuses on core skating mechanics, puck control, and small-area games to foster a genuine love for the game.
U13 – U17 (The Golden Age of Skill Acquisition): Intensifies tactical awareness, introductory body contact, and positional play to build high-level game IQ.
U18 – U20 (High-Performance & Junior Transition): Advanced tactical execution, specialized strength and conditioning, and preparation for professional academies or high-level collegiate hockey.

Team Building

Scrimmages and Practices: Teams engage in practice games and scrimmages to develop team chemistry, communication, and coordination. Coaches use this time to assess player performance and make adjustments to lineups and strategies.

Off-Ice Activities: Team-building exercises, meetings, and social events are often incorporated to foster camaraderie among players and coaching staff.

The word hockey itself is of unknown origin. One supposition is that it is a derivative of hoquet, a Middle French word for a shepherd’s stave. The curved, or “hooked” ends of the sticks used for hockey would indeed have resembled these staves. Another supposition derives from the known use of cork bungs.
